First in the news: I have a new niece and Preston has a new cousin, Miss Dawson! My brother Drew's first baby was born this past Monday on Kevin's birthday. She is the sweetest and most adorable thing! I just fell right in love with her. It sure is an easy task with the wee-ones.

Movin' right along, we had a great Fourth of July. We headed out to Kevin's Dad and StepMom's house for a day of grilling out and pool time. Thankfully it wasn't 110 degrees, amazingly enough, and it was actually nice and enjoyable out. They have a really big backyard with lots to do and see and Preston absolutely LOVED it! He explored for hours and went non stop. So even though there was no rest for me or Kevin because we had to tag along behind him the entire time ( there was also plenty of ways he could hurt himself) we sure had one tired baby who slept wonderfully that night! It was really great to visit and have Preston get some good family and outside time!
Water hose nozzle, apparently the greatest invention ever.
He found this soccer ball and started kicking it!
Mamma and Baby. :)
It's so hot! Loves drinking all of Mamma's drinks
First time jumping on a trampoline, loved it!
P exploring with Aunt Alex
P and Grandpa
He found this water hose nozzle and thought it was the absolute greatest!! Wouldn't put it down!
Kevin took the day after the Fourth off from work which means he was able to join us for swim class! Kevin was so excited. So he took lots of pics of me and Mr. P doing our thing. Preston was so happy Dad was there watching him. :)
Learning to go under water!
Floating on his belly and picking up balls and putting them in the basket
Learning to climb out of the pool
Jumping back in the pool
Getting comfortable floating on his back
About to jump and go under water!
We've also enjoyed some pool parties. Preston got to check out his new pool float a couple of times and he did great in it! He loves to just chill out and enjoy the action. He also had his very first bite of a cheeseburger, which was a huge hit, after some sun and pool time. Good times. He's enjoyed all kinds of new summer foods and treats. Don't you know he isn't really apt to try good- for- him foods, but somehow knows when we're offering him a sip of a chocolate shake or a bite of a chocolate chip cookie. He eats it right up and follows us around begging for more!
Pool party at one of Kevin's coworker's house. First time in his pool float, it was a hit!
Pool time at Grampy and GrandMary's House:
He loved the waterfall. Checkin' it out with GrandMary
Hangin' in the pool with GrandMary and Grampy
Here are a few others pics from this past week.
Working on two molars. :(
He never moves without something in one of his hands, ever. And it stays in his hand until he's done playing.
Building with Legos. He totally gets it now and puts together multiple blocks on top of each other. Kevin is quite proud because his Ped just told us this week at his Well visit that " this is advanced". :)
Looove smoochin' on this face!! He is now giving kisses with his lips instead of his forehead, too.
He likes to drink from Mamma's canteen. He thinks it's quite cool.
Preston also had his 15 month well visit this week. He is right on track developmentally and staying on his growth curve. He weighs 22.4 pounds and is 32" tall and still has a small head. LOL His height and weight are in the 15-25th percentile and his head circumference is in the less than 5th percentile. Small head, thanks, Dad. :) He has made up for his ' falling down the stairs' weight loss episode and is back on track. Also, we're driving down to Houston for the day, for a there and back trip this Sunday for a party for my Memaw, celebrating one year cancer free! Wish us luck with 10 hours of drive time with the busiest 15 month old ever!
What P's up to:
Kissing with his mouth
He's building with Legos
He's not wanting to really be rocked to sleep, so most of the time we read his stories before naps and night time and then put him in his crib awake and he gets his Bear and puts himself to sleep
He's cutting a upper and a lower molar
He only runs these days, no walking
He has started with some separation anxiety
Loves peek a boo
Still loves to give High Fives and say " bang" when he does it
He found his ' pee pee' and won't keep his hands off it!
He dances every time he hears music
He is now nursing only in the morning, and sometimes not.
Doing great at mastering his fork use
If you're sitting on the floor with him, he wants to sit in your lap
He discovered Mamma's makeup brushes and loves to powder Daddy's face
Hope yall had a wonderful Fourth of July and all is well!
